The John Knox Village Partnership

HospiceCare of Southeast Florida, Inc. strives to bring quality end of life care into the patient’s residence, but we also recognize that this is not always possible. Through our partnership with John Knox Village, we offer an alternative. We have brought the home environment to John Knox Village Healthcare Center. Our ten bed hospice unit is another way to meet the fundamental goal of providing the best pain and symptom management, spiritual, social, and bereavement counseling in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. A family room is available for relaxation, or meetings with family, friends, or the physician.

Hospice Unit Requirements Requirements

A patient may be eligible for inpatient hospice care if his or her pain and symptoms have become unmanageable in the home setting. Hospice Unit Services

The hospice unit is staffed 24 hours a day/seven days a week by a Registered Nurse and a Certified Nursing Assistant who provide hands-on care along with support to the patient and family. A physician visits as often as needed by the patient, family, or staff of the Unit. Visits are made by social workers, counselors, chaplains, volunteers, and bereavement specialists on a routine basis or by request. Visitors are welcome 24 hours a day, and there is no age limit for visitors. Family and friends are welcome to spend the night, bring in favorite dishes, and/or favorite items from home.
