PATIENT CARE VOLUNTEERS
 
 
 

     Visit patients at home or in the acute care center to offer respite for caregivers and emotional support to the patients and their loved ones. Activities could include reading to the patient, playing board games, assisting with a hobby, or simply listening. Volunteers who visit patients at home may also help by running errands or shopping for groceries. Licensed or certified professionals can also provide services to patients that include:

Massage Therapy
Pet Therapy
Reiki
Specialty volunteers must be appropriately licensed or certified.

Training Required: 18 hour Patient Care Volunteer Training Program.

Time Commitment: One hour per week minimum.
