11TH HOUR PATIENT CARE VOLUNTEERS
“No one should die alone,” and thanks to 11th Hour volunteers, no one has to. In addition to the patient volunteer training course, 11th Hour Volunteers receive additional specialized training on the end stages of life, physical, and spiritual changes. Terminal illness can sometimes be overwhelming for patients and their families. During those final hours, families can feel lost and alone. 11th Hour volunteers are available to offer comfort, support, and will sit with a patient (especially if the patient is alone) or simply be a peaceful presence for the family.
11th Hour volunteering is for those who are comfortable with offering comfort to the dying, peace and support to the family. 11th Hour volunteers can be called upon on at short notice and are required to commit to a three hour shift.
